Flags that support Earth Day

This year Earth Day is Tuesday April 22nd.  First celebrated in 1970, the goal of this day is to create  support for environmental protection through events and informational campaigns that take place throughout the world.  By participating in the events you can gain valuable insight on how you can help by doing your part. Here is a website I found that listed 50 small things everyone can do to help, many of these, I never thought of.  http://www.50waystohelp.com/

 You can also help with awareness simply by displaying one of our environmental garden flags in your yard.  A decorative flag can be a small billboard letting friends and neighbors know that you support Mother Earth.  Here are a couple of our environmental flags that would be perfect for Earth Day.  These yard flags were designed in our shop and you won't see them anywhere else.  Their design  also has a playful charm that will interest children.  Teaching children and getting them interested in conservation and environmental issues is more important now than it has ever been.

A little more springing action please.

The day claiming Spring Equinox on the calendar has come and gone, and I'm starting to see lots of spring garden flags in neighbor's yards, but the old saying of action speaks louder than words, I think, applies here.  It may say spring on the calendar, but I'm not seeing much springing action outside. Yesterday's weather included a bitter cold wind and the day before that we actually had snow, and we are even in the south.  People in the north definitely are having it worse. 

Despite the cold weather, I still am seeing lots of other signs that spring is here.  My forsythia is in full bloom, along with the daffodils.  Parent birds are busily going in and out of our birdhouses, and my yard is showing signs of needing mowed, UGH.  So, I'm busily planning and gathering supplies for spring projects.  Including, choosing which decorative flags to display in my garden.

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful day we are enjoying today.  Temperatures have climbed into the 70's and what a tease it is.  Two days from now the highs are only going to be in the high 30's.  But all is not lost, spring is just around the corner and it is definitely time to start putting out spring garden flags.  Daffodils are a popular subject on decorative spring flags.  These flags can be displayed from Easter through till the heat of summer.  Here is the Daffodil Spring Garden Flag by Evergreen.  It can also be a personalized flag.

Personalize your Easter Flag

Patriotic Garden Flags

The 2012 Summer Olympics slipped by me, I watched very little of them and later regretted it.  So during these 2014 Winter Olympics I have made a real point to watch them faithfully and I have really enjoyed them.  These talented athletes are such an inspiration.  Their accomplishments are awesome and their dedication truly amazing.  Although I admire them all regardless of what country they represent, I do of course, root a little more for those from the USA. Watching the members of Team USA will stir a feeling of patriotism in even the most cynical.
